The Negreiros red wine is produced from the grape varieties Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca and Tinta Roriz, planted at Quinta das Amendoeiras, on the north bank of the upper Douro. The grapes have always been graded with the letter A (which indicates the best quality on a scale from A to F).

Nearly 10 hectares of vines produce approximately 50 tons of grapes per year, from which only 10 to 15 tons are used for the Negreiros brand – the large majority is still traded for Port wine production.
