The 'Negreiros' project was initiated with the contribution of oenologists Anselmo Mendes and Pedro Bravo.

From the 2007 harvest on, we have been relying upon the talent of João Brito e Cunha, a prestigious oenologist known for the 'construction' of the first 'Lavradores de Feitoria' wines. Brito e Cunha became famous in 2001, when he created the legendary ME & JBC, regarded by many as the best Portuguese wine produced in 2001.

João Brito e Cunha and Negreiros were actually meant to cross paths. Brito e Cunha chose to concentrate his activity in the Douro, namely in the 'Douro superior' ('upperDouro') region. Since the Quinta das Amendoeiras is one of the best located farms in the region, Brito e Cunha's collaboration with Quinta das Amendoeiras was just a matter of time.
